This year I went with my cousin Tineka and friend LaTonya on a Family & Friends Christmas Vacation and we had a blast. Unfortunately, my grown man child did not want to go; but I enjoyed the other children and their excitement. It’s was a quick cruise from Long Beach, CA to Mexico on the Carnival Imagination. Let’s get to it.We boarded our boat on Friday afternoon in Long Beach. There was a little mix up with our room but once we got that figured out it was smooth sailing. Of course our first stop was food. We went to Guys Burgers which was actually good or I was very hungry. After we ate, we went back to our rooms and our luggage was there. 🙌. We got our photoshoot on and enjoyed the boat and it’s activities. By 9 pm everyone was tired and already in the bed. I have became somewhat of a night owl, so I enjoyed the welcome show performance which started at 10:15pm.Day 2 was a day at sea. I was sea sick so I spent most of my time sleep. Yes, I took medicine and no it didn’t work. When I was awake for a few hours, I enjoyed a few drinks, walked around the boat, oh and I won a Motown Trivia game. I finally appreciated all those dusties they made us listen to at the family get together’s.Later on that evening we got all fancy for the Captains Toast. We ate dinner in the formal dining room took some pictures and enjoyed a Motown performance show. After that, the kids went to bed and my buddy Devin went to kids klub. (Which he loved by the way.) The adults took in a comedy show and tried to enjoy the cruise night life. There was a disco club we got bored with that fast. I would have liked something a little more modern but we made the best of it and still enjoyed our girls time.
Its finally Day 3, we woke up and we were in Escenada, Mexico. The boat was docked there from 9-5 and we took full advantage of it. We hired us a private tour guide to take us sightseeing which was the best thing ever. We were on our own time without a big crowd. He took us to the mountains, beach (it was too cold to get in the water) shopping, and to Bienvenidos A La Bufadora where we got to see the worlds largest blow hole. (Check out my videohttps://instagram.com/p/Brdja3slcul/). We enjoyed tequila, tequila, and more tequila. We had tacos, brought a few souvenirs, and it was time to head back to the boat. Everyone was a bit tired when we returned back to the boat. We showered, changed clothes ate again, and enjoyed another show.
We spent one more night aboard the ship and just like that our vacation was over. We were back in Long Beach wishing we had one more day. The only downfall to this vacation was the weather. It was in the mid 60’s so there was no swimming for us. Lucky, Tineka advised us to bring sweaters, joggers, and jeans. The best thing for me was going on vacation and even with the airfare spending less than $500. You can never go wrong with a vacation cruise. You can eat all day and night for free which is a great money saver on vacation. Also, if you like to drink check out the drink packages, this will save you a lot of money. (Remember every adult in your room has to get the drink package. They won’t give it to one individual.)
Be sure to check out Tineka for all your travel needs. Let her know TonShay sent you. Thank you Tineka for planning such a great trip.
